Looks Like Smaller Business Can Be a Pain Too!!
From a very upset and unhappy former customer comes this report, which, if online terms and conditions, as well as a bit of research are anything to go on, is just about on the money for an honest report on an unscrupulous UK Broadband provider. IF you’re considering XLN.. our best advice to you would be.. JUST SAY NO!!
XLN BROADBAND and XLN LINE RENTAL
If you happen to be unlucky enough to have your Broadband or Telephone line with XLN? Beware!
The supplier they use for Broadband is rated 1 out of 5 by most Broadband speed checkers online for service and of course you can only rate 1 through 5 and cannot give a ZERO. What does that say?
No, wait, there’s more. Even if you had hired a psychic, you would not have seen this one coming in a million years. Speaking of some of the worst possible and most ridiculous and underhanded set of rules we have ever seen, check out these little fine print details…
If you are dissatisfied with XLN, you do have the right to cancel, however you won’t be doing that without a penalty.. you try to cancel XLN Broadband and move to another service they charge a fee of £99 for the privilege. Most service providers do not charge at all because they like to thank you for your past service, not XLN.
They also have a cancellation fee for the telephone line that you pay a monthly fee to maintain. If you want to remove their service from it, you will be required to PAY them to leave.. Now there’s a neat way to make money… can you believe? It’s a hefty fee for paying them to go away, just like the bad boyfriend you’re going to pay pretty well… £238 lol
Now of course you can avoid the above charges if you are a true clairvoyant as you have to cancel 42 days before the anniversary date. Which of course means that if you started the service on say March 1 of any year and you decided to cancel in November, you would have to notify XLN of your intentions to cancel during the previous January. This of course is obviously to make you endure the bad service a lot longer than you would have wanted and makes them extra line rental and broadband rental at the same time.
My recommendation to anyone reading this is to avoid XLN Telecom like the plague unless you want to get bad service and then be penalized in a fairly hefty way for the privilege of taking your business away.
